L&rsquo;exposition ferme dans 5 minutes, les gardiens disent&nbsp;: \u00ab photos interdites \u00bb, mais tout le monde photographie. Dans son tr\u00e8s bon livre consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 Piotr Kowalski (Hazan, 1988), Jean-Christophe Bailly confronte cette pi\u00e8ce \u00e0 la<em> Time Machine<\/em> dont le projet est de <em>renverser le temps<\/em>. Deux miroirs \u00e0 double face et en angle droit, tournant rapidement sur leur axe d&rsquo;intersection vertical, donnent du regardeur une image <em>non invers\u00e9e<\/em>. Mais, dans sa description et dans son commentaire, il fait une grave erreur&nbsp;: \u00ab Ce double inconnu qui nous contemple cr\u00e9e un vertige. Jamais encore nous ne l&rsquo;avions rencontr\u00e9, jamais encore nous ne nous \u00e9tions vus comme un autre nous voit. Qu&rsquo;on ralentisse la rotation du plateau et l&rsquo;immobilise, et l&rsquo;image redevient normale, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire invers\u00e9e. \u00bb (p. 85) Faire tourner l&rsquo;ensemble \u00e9largit uniform\u00e9ment le champ \u00e0 360 degr\u00e9s et donne au reflet un aspect fantomatique et volumique, qualit\u00e9s importantes de cette \u0153uvre. Mais, chacun l&rsquo;a sans doute v\u00e9rifi\u00e9 lui-m\u00eame, par exemple dans le d\u00e9cor d&rsquo;un caf\u00e9&nbsp;: deux miroirs formant un angle droit produisent deux sym\u00e9tries qui s&rsquo;ajoutent et qui annulent donc l&rsquo;inversion, ind\u00e9pendamment de toute rotation.
